KIDSatLAKE KINDERGARTEN

In addition to the nurseries, our locations in Zollikon and Rüschlikon also have a kindergarten.

During two years children are being prepared for preschool. At KIDSatLAKE we provide children a balance between loving care and nurturing pre-schoolers while encouraging their interest in exploring the world that surrounds them.

Children in the kindergarten age increasingly strive for independence. They make great developmental steps and learn important basics for their lives. They are gently prepared for the increasingly structured learning contents.

OUR PEDAGOGICAL CONCEPT

The educational areas of the Zurich curriculum are part of our pedagogical concept and are integrated into our daily routine and annual plan:

IDENTITY, VALUES AND SOCIAL:

This area of education includes, for example, the careful handling of people, animals, plants and materials. In addition, children learn that difficult situations as well as failures are part of life and how to deal with them. Also, we teach them the ability to express their own emotions and to perceive and interpret the feelings of other children.

COMMUNICATION, LANGUAGE AND MEDIA:

Through play children learn how to use language and how to express themselves in everyday situations. They also learn how to ask questions that are appropriate to the situation and content and how to appropriately react to instructions and questions.

NATURE, TECHNOLOGY AND MATHEMATICS:

In this area of education, children learn, for example, to compare different objects with each other to discover the similarities and differences. They get to know shapes like triangles, circles and squares, as well as time periods like days, months or terms like yesterday, today and tomorrow.

BODY, MOVEMENT AND HEALTH:

The children learn to name their body parts and to express and communicate when having pain or feeling unwell. They also learn that healthy food and drinking has a positive impact on their health. they learn how to use various tools, such as colouring pens and scissors, appropriately.

PERCEPTION, DESIGN AND THE ARTS

This area, for example, includes the discovery and the creative use of different materials. Furthermore, the children learn to depict people, animals, plants and objects in their own visual language. They learn to recognize pitch, volume and simple sound sequences, how to describe them and translate them into movement or to portray them visually.

In addition to the Zurich curriculum, we also work according to the international curriculum. This way the children are fully prepared for the transition to both the public as well as the private, international pre-schools.

In the canton of Zurich, attendance at kindergarten is compulsory from the age of 4 and children can attend our private kindergartens in Rüschlikon and Zollikon. In the cantons of Zug, Lucerne and Schwyz, kindergarten attendance is only compulsory from the age of 5 and children can attend our pre-kindergarten group until they enter kindergarten.
